Friday Fictioneer: The Jump

This week was so terribly hard that I had to look to Chewy for inspiration. Seriously I looked at Chewy for hours on this. He climbed in my lap and stared back. What a sweet guy:

I often wonder what a dog thinks about when the human is out of control. Hopefully my take on this isn't too far fetched.

All she needs to do is love me. Let me sit in her lap and scratch my fur.

But I'm strapped to her chest, strapped to some guy that I keep growling at, in hopes of her sending the stinky man away.

He smells like poop. And he keeps trying to mate with her. I dislike him.

It's cold and I can't really breathe well. Out in the distance there is something shiny that has no legs. How is it standing?

The three of us seem to be getting closer to the end where there's a big hole. He keeps pushing us, and my human is scared.

Surely we're not going to fall?

  1. So this woman's taking her dog sky diving? Interesting concept. This is a very cerebral dog. LOL.

    1. Yeah pretty much. Poor dog, if they really though like that what do you think they'd say? Thanks for leaving your link.

  4. Very interesting. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I had trouble with this one too. After reading some information about blimps and following several links for more, I came up with this: http://oldentimes.wordpress.com/2012/06/08/june-8-friday-fictioneers-just-take-me-home/

    1. I liked yours though you did so well. The uncle seemed so mean and at the same time so vulnerable. I loved it. Thank you from dropping by my blog and leaving your link.

    1. Yes I have to admit Chewy gets all the credit for this one. Though for the description I couldn't help myself. If dogs could really communicate on that level, I think we humans would probably be in a world of hurt. Thanks you stopping in on the blog hop and leaving a comment.

  6. Hmmm... skydiving doggies, weird. Is it strange that I don't find this too far fetched. I could totally see some people I know doing this, if they were into skydiving anyway.

    1. Strangest thing: After I wrote this I had to look for my dog's papers and found an article about a guy who takes his dog surfing, hang gliding and sky diving. In the article the guy says his dog loves it. I really don't want to find out if my dog will.
Thank you for dropping in. Have a great weekend.

  7. I never expected to read a story like this. Most of the stories are from a human's perspective and mostly about flight.
Unique approach to the prompt. And I can see Chewy's picture as I make this comment.

    1. Well I'm glad to throw a little something different into the mix. Yes as I said Chewy is the reason for this story and I pictured him all strapped up. When I pictured him doing this, I didn't think he would enjoy it. Thank you for dropping by and leaving your link.

  8. Atiya, this is a very unique take. I like it. Always wondered what goes on in those furry minds of dogs. :)

    1. I grew up hearing stories of people not trusting their pets and end up not being happy. So I wanted to make sure that I spent some time on the dogs opinion. It worked that the man was stinky. Plus he's about to toss all three of them out a plane so why should the dog like him?

Thanks for coming by and commenting.

  11. Atiya, what an interesting take on the prompt! Way to go, Chewy! I think animals get it right most of the time ;-)

  12. I wonder if anyone's actually taken their dog skydiving?

    On second thought: probably.

The dog sounds like a protective one, and I agree with flyoverhere: the dog's opinion is spot on.

    1. LOL, I'm getting a lot of dog lovers on this. Yes I agree the human in this needs to trust her dog. That and he smells like poop, I'm waving the No-Go flag on this one. I'm heading over to your link in a sec. Thank you for dropping by.

  13. The world looks so different through a dog's eyes (or nose!) What's happening - are they about to skydive??

  14. I did see on tv that a dog went skydiving with its owner. According to the news, it enjoyed doing it -- don't know how they knew that but, if true, it's a braver dog than I am a person. :-) Unusual, but delightful, tale. Good job.

    1. Yeah I don't think I'll know if any dog would enjoy it. Maybe the owner had some insight or something. Thank you for your comment and your link. I'll pop over in a bit. Thank you

  15. I love dogs, grew up with one, have always had one or two. They have all been Pit Bull Terriers and Staffordshire Terriers, dogs who really want to be humans and share in all our activities. Your dog's thoughts really rang true with me though I'm not sure he'd take to skydiving — he doesn't even like me to pick him up off the ground. Nice and unusual story, Atiya.

    1. Funny my dog loves being picked up. Maybe because it's me picking him up, my dog is a cuddle monster. I guess I learned all dogs are not created equal. Thank you for commenting. I zipped over to yours and was completely blown away. I am so jealous.
